Celframe Office Write is a basic word processor with core features common to Microsoft Word, Corel WordPerfect and other leading programs. Spell and grammar check provide the same dynamic underlining you see on other word processors. Celframe Write includes built-in buttons to Google and Wikipedia that will be of use to web surfers and wiki authors. We like the inclusion of a timer in the tool bar too—it’s a great way to meet paper deadlines or simply see how long a project takes.

Celframe is widely used in Chinese markets and includes superb support for the Chinese language. Students studying Chinese or individuals with connections to China can take advantage of Celframe’s Chinese dictionary and translation tool.

Additional Software:  

Celframe Office aims to be a comprehensive office solution. In addition to its word processor, Celframe Office Home includes spreadsheet, presentation, PDF creation, photo album, backup, synchronizing and publishing software. We found Celframe’s spreadsheet and presentation software easy to use and functional, thanks in large part to their similarities to Excel and PowerPoint.

Celframe Office is also available in a professional and small business edition that includes database and email utilities.

Compatibility:  

Celframe Office is a mixed bag when it comes to working with third party files. On the one hand, you don’t have the ability to open, edit or save Microsoft Office 2007 files. To make up for Office 2007 compatibility, Celframe is fully compatible with OpenOffice file formats. Given the increased popularity of OpenOffice on college campuses and with home users, we think Celframe is a good solution for users that regularly deal with ODT, ODS, ODP and ODB file formats. Celframe Office features full support for Microsoft Office 2003 files for situations that do not warrant OpenOffice formats.

User Support:  

Celframe has FAQs and user guides available online that address typical user issues and troubleshooting. In the event that you have a technical issue not addressed on site FAQs, you can submit a ticket to Celframe via email.

Celframe Office Home includes a useful and thorough set of office software ideal for home users, students and freelance professionals. Its primary limitation is its inability to work with Microsoft Office 2007 files. But, Celframe Office is one of the few programs we’ve reviewed that also works with OpenOffice formats. For everyday productivity tasks, Celframe Office is a capable performer.
